Goat in Distress?

I just got permission to hunt over a herd of goats and was wondering what a goat in distress sounds like. I would guess like a deer in distress but I have no idea. Does anyone know? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Foxpro's kidgoat distress sounds great to me but I haven't called in anything with it yet! But I hunt near some people who have goats so I'm going to give it a shot.

Is there anything you can do on a mouth call? I have Lohmans tape caller but don't use it much. I may have to use it for this situations if I have to.

If you have access to a Nubian goat herd, you are all set. They will scream and moan when it is feeding time. Very noisy breed. They are milk goats wth long houndy ears. If you hear one, you can easily sound like it with your mouth, no "call" needed. The young ones do sound like fawns in distress.

Want to know what a goat in distress sounds like?

Ask these college boys in Western Kentucky. They probably know.

I saw this on www.gunbroker.com forum yesterday and thought of it immediately when I saw the subject title.

Apparently there was an agriculture fraternity in WKU that was found to have a goat in its basement.

Hunting around stock doesn't require much calling. They make their own noises. I think I'd setup before dawn and do more spot-and-stalk style hunting. Maybe set an ambush over the bone pit, possibly at night if the law allows. This is one of the few times I might hunt downwind too.

The last thing you want to do is lose your permission to hunt, so hunt smart and shoot safe.
