Hey everyone,

I am going to go and try to kill a yote this weekend at my family's farm. I have a fox pro e caller and the fox pro remote decoy. Most of our farms are on fairly large soybean fields that are lined around the perimeter with a 50yard buffer of pine/thickets. I have a couple of questions about what I should do this weekend......Should I try to set the decoy out in the field say 50 yards from where I am sitting in the pine and put the e caller maybe 40-50 yards away from me? How long should I leave the ecaller going? Do you guys stick to primarily one sound or do you mix it up through out the hunt?

We've seen several coyotes while deer hunting over the past few years and this weekend will be my first time to go specifically after them. BTW I will be taking my remington vssf2 in .223 and my buddy will probably have his 22-250 with him. Any advice would be appreciated.

if your fox pro has a remote , set it next to the decoy .if the yotes there havent been called before-be ready. they could run over you, like the sioux did custer.but try to set up where they will have to come out in the open if they try to get down wind .start out with the volume low, then gradually increase it .be as quite as possible(slamming pick-up doors, talking, bumping your barrel against your shooting sticks, etc.).as far as sounds go ,its trial and error.what works one day wont the next.if you want to messs with your neighbors cats set your caller outside and try different calls and see which ones they respond to.

Get ready and save your money!!!!!!!Your in for a long haul!! Your goin to have so much fun even if you dont get one.
Good luck this weekend And goodhuntin, steve

If that farm has never been called you're going to have more fun than a barrel of monkeys! Just take it seriously, hunt with your head, and don't let 'em see you hear you or smell you!

Keep your ears open and eyes peeled if its never been called at before its going to get interesting. Shoot straight and don't educate them!
