Good Scope for .338 Win Mag

I am buying a .338 Win Mag rifle from a friend within the week. Does anybody have suggestions for a scope that will be good and be able to stand up to the recoil of this caliber rifle? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Especially if someone has a large bore rifle and optics they like. I looked over a friend's .338 Lapua Savage Model 110 today, and he has a Leupold Tactical scope on his. Thanks for any response.

I want to be able to use it for long range shooting, which I have never done before. I also will use it for hunting. I'm leaning towards a Nightforce with BDC. I won't always have the money to buy one like I will have soon. If I am going to buy a Nightforce, now is the time. I have never done long range shooting of any kind with scopes. Even with ARs I just had open sights. If I had more experience with scopes and long range hunting the choice would be easier for me. My friend's Leupold Tactical didn't seem to have much eye relief, but maybe I am wrong.

I don't know what's considered long range, but it should fill the bill for me. From what I have read it seems to reach out quite a ways. Thanks for the link to the scope.
