Before you all give me too much grief, I know its just a Mossberg

but it is the first gun I ever bought and I want to turkey hunt with it this year. Its a 500 20 gauge and I'm looking for a decent turkey choke that wont break the bank. If you guys have any suggestions, fire away. Thanks for the help

I would just get Mbergs choke set.My 500 12g combo came with a 28" vent rib barrel and IC,Mod and full.I just used the full choke with #4 shot.

I agree, no shame on a M500, they've been around a long time and doing a good job. I'd look really hard at the Jellyhead, it's usually a pretty darn good choke for the money.

Mossbergs are my favorite shotguns, I had the 835 12 ga with the thumbhole stock.....best shotgun I ever had. The jellyheads are supposed to be pretty good, if you had a little extra to spend on one, I would look into kicks gobblin thunder chokes. They worked better than any other ones I tried. But there are so many to choose from, but those are great chokes. Good luck!

I tried a few of the high dollar tubes on my 935 and found it patterened the best with the stock full tube. That was with #6's.

Indian creek is a fantastic choke, put one in my 835 and it went from a 35 yard gun to a 50+ yard gun. There a little pricier than some of the others mentioned but worth every penny.

Agree.......best choke on the market.

I also agree about Indian Creek; and Kick's, Pure Gold, Rhino, and Comp-n-Choke are great too. But he said "without breaking the bank." In that area the Jellyhead is perfect. But if the budget will allow, the Indian Creek BDS is an excellent choke. My Benelli M1S90 3" 12 gauge will throw slightly over 200 Hevi 13 #6's into 10" at 40 measured yards from my Indian Creek .665" BDS. One of my Kick's GT's will do a little less and run right at 178 average with the same load ect. Both are turkey killers and hard to fault either of them. I just bought a Jellyhead for my son's new Benelli Vinci and we'll see how it compares. Judging from past experience with Jellyhead chokes he should go from the mid 160's to 170+. That is solid performance; hopefully that holds true like the others I've owned and shot and I got his for $30.00 shipped, slightly used shot ten times.

Val, I found the same thing for my 935. Standard choke constriction produced the heaviest patterns all the way out to 50 yds, I did buy a ported one to help recoil. hagrid
