Got a laser engraver...

LONEHOWL

Custom Call Maker
....and I dont know how to run it lol. This was my first practice shot on a scrap call blank. It was supposed to be inverted but I screwed it up. Had laser on 80% at first and it cut right thru the 1/4" bottom and cut into my workbench, thats the straight line at bottom. Oops.
This was off a phone app and it sucks. Will have to do from a computer I think. Much practice needed.

This could be interesting, or dangerous lol. All jokes aside, laser etching logos, animal images, or whatever your mind can imagine and put in a program can make calls even more unique or personal for people. Looking forward to the stuff to come after you get the kinks out.

Lol just a cheap setup nothing crazy. I wanted to run off of an app on my phone, which you can, but its not sophisticated enough. Ill have to run software like Lightburn or something I think.

Mark,
The daughter has one. They are neat, I have not played with it, most of her wood work has done exactly as you posted.
Not exactly sure of the software she is using. But I do know she isn't using a phone app.
They look to be fun addition. In the software choices I would sound like a sounding board of the Internet claims.
Keep at it what you posted looks way promising, as I've not played with her's I can't give any advice in the software etc side. I do know there is software that will do CO2 laser and CNC router with only the burn/cut language is the changed part. Outside of encouraging you to keep at it I personally can't offer much advice in the software side, which is the hurdle.

Keep at it I think your on to something that will enhance your endeavors with your calls.
I'm sure you have the /a exhaust fan running which helps with the heat buildup on the surface area (wood) a bit.

Yep definetly need Lightburn or similar software. This is just an app off phone and you cant do what I want it to. Ill figure it out though.
More scrap:
