Hey Im no good with the computer and the search thing so you guys who commented on the Gout I think its coming back. So what were some of those remedies again?
Thanks Daryl Pelfrey

I have gout - it's extremely painful, I know. I take indomethacin which is the generic indocin, an nsaid type drug. It's hard on the stomach but works in 12 hrs. I take it until the pain is gone, maybe 1 or two days. Works for me. Unfortunately, beer and red meat are two leading causes which is bad news for me. I'll have to cut back on the red meat.

Colchicine is the standard treatment. It works but makes you feel bad. I usually take 2) 0.6MG pills 2 days in a row and that is usually enough and doesn't make me feel too bad.

The only thing I know for sure that will bring on an attack is getting dehydrated.

Ditto to what NASA said. However, reduce your red meat intake for the time being. Uric acid is a by product of protein metabolism, and is excreted in the urine. Gout is caused by the build up of uric acid of the joints. This may or may not help, depending on the severity of your gout. Prescription meds work better.

I get the gout. No fun! Go to the doctors and get the script. I only get it from canned seafood like canned baby clams or canned shrimp. I've figured out that its in the water that there canned in. If I rinse out the seafood with fresh water I don't get it. Indomethacin works every time. When I get it, doesn't go away on it's own. It only gets worse, goes from my big toe to my ankle and that feels like I broke it. "Put the lime in the coconut and drink'm all up" doesn't work.

Naproxen helps me. I was actually hospitalized once for a day on Morphine due to the pain. It was horrible. Now it comes back every now and again, and the Naproxen will help me. It is basically a high dosage of Aleve- that is prescribed. I have had a lot of problems with gout in my feet, and knee. When I was hospitalized they had to pull almost a pint of fluid from my knee, and put a cortizone shot in there at the same time. Still didn't take the pain away, so they admitted me. Keep on a "low purine" diet, and you should be O.K. (do a search on google). Also- Colchesine- if you can, stay as far away as you can. I sat on the can for 3 days after taking that crap. honestly I would rather have the gout!! Dr. told me to find something other than beer to celebrate with- now it's Vodka/Cranberry. Doesn't bother me like beer does. hope this helps!!

Cherries, Cherries, and more Cherries. Anyway you can get em. Just eat a bunch of em whether it goes away or not. They help prevent gout from coming back too. Or so it is said. I never had it but know people who have and they swear it helps.
