Greatest predator hunters of all time?

In your opinion who are some of the greatest predator hunters that ever lived? Who do you like reading about or even seeing on t.v. or maybe that you've known personally?

My all time pick would have to be Gerry Blair. His book Predator Calling with Gerry Blair is what really started the ball rolling for me.

But aside from him there are several guys that are without a doubt great predator hunters. Les Johnson,Big Al Morris,Randy Anderson, Randy Watson,O'neill Ops crew, Casey Smith and his crew for sure. They put up big numbers in a lot of contest consistently so to me they're among the best. I'm sure I'm forgetting a lot of people, some who I've maybe never heard of. Some who I have and just can't think of at the moment.

Who are some guys on your list of predator hunters/callers you look up to and have shortened the learning curve by listening to their advice? Or maybe someone you enjoy reading stories about or hearing stories from?

I knew I was forgetting some people. That's one of them. He definitely kills his share.

There are many guys that we've never seen their name mentioned on any social media that are stone cold coyote killers!

Very true. I'll even go ahead and say there are guys here that are. Just regular every day people that get after 'em.

I wouldn't mind hearing some names of some people that have maybe gotten too old to do much of it or have passed on that I could read up about as well.

Seems as though I remember reading up on an old school caller that was known for winning a lot of contest back when predator huntin wasn't what it is today. Can't for the life of me remember his name.

Les Johnson and Randy Anderson. However, there are a lot of ADC guys out there that you never hear about that have forgotten more than most of us will ever know about the business. I know a couple of guys who have shot 300 this year. They are using thermals and hit it hard. They shoot over bait a lot. Some of these calling contests aren't really calling contests.

Ray Alcorn, Murry Burnham, Major Boddicker, Bill Austin, to name just a few.

Les Johnson and Randy Anderson!
Johnson did a seminar way out here in a little town. My boy was 12 and we were hooked he is 43 now and we call together at least once a week still.

Way too many names to list in my opinion. But my top two would be Sam Dudley and Ray Alcorn

Way back in 1969 I joined a buddy and his dad to form a team for the National Varmint Hunt that year out of Needles, CA. There were a lot of hunters mostly from CA and AZ an among them was the already legendary Sam Dudley. It happened that my buddies dad had grown up with Sam during the Big Depression so we were treated to numerous “back then” stories, it was a fun time. Sam Dudley hunted alone, in Arizona, during the day only and won that tournament. Sam came in with (if I recall correctly) eleven Coyotes. Sam was the greatest Coyote hunter I ever met.

Can also add Byron South, Rick Paillet , Torry Cook and Bob Morris along with all the others already mentioned !

I remember reading posts some years back on here of two guys,Mitch and Marty I think that was there names. They really seemed to stack up big numbers consistently.

A lot of factors go into that. For me personally, Randy Roode was so full of knowledge. I wish I could have hunted with him. I’ve hunted with 5 people that have been listed in this post and I don’t think any of those guys could even start Randy and they are all straight up killers.

One I meant to mention is Clay Reid and another is Kelly Jackson. Those guys have probably killed more coyotes than I've seen in my life. And I've seen a crap load.
