Im getting ready to head down to S.C for a hog hunt at the Black river plantation and im going to be hunting at night down here. My question for is, what would be a nice affordable night light for hunting hogs for 200yards and under and to be able to see them clearly through the scope?

I just ordered a c4p striker light kit with green bulb for $95 shipped. All the reviews and everyone ive heard talk about this light has been nothing but good. I mite buy the sniper hog light 66lr in the future.

Sniper Hog Light mounts way to high as a gun mounted light at least for me. Probably would be better suited scanning. I believe green is brighter than red and would enable one to see black colored hogs much better at night.

I have the ND3 on my AR with a 3x mag Eotech. It works great on a running hog. Got him off hand even. I have the 40mm I think, the middle one with two batteries. It runs way longer on two batteries. Get the sub zero one so it still works in cold weather.

Not to stray too far off topic, but yes, digital night vision is available for $475 and much better than red or green lights.

In my limited experience the light makes them scatter. I have learned from my mistakes (White light and BRIGHT light)but Im saving for a Sightmark Photon

Couldn't let that one pass without a question. Can you tell me more about that "digital night vision" for $475? Heck a good light costs half that...

Curious, I have a Polaris ev ranger that I will be night hunting off of. I have two coats of 3m green film over the headlights that make them about almost 75% less bright. Will the hogs see the green light if I use it to ride to the edge of the fields, and then scan with thermal.

Basically, I can eliminate any kind of navigation device for driving, if the green light doesn't bother hogs.

Thanks
