This time next year I hope to be trying to fill a deer tag in southern Arizona. I would like to learn though how to butcher the deer myself so I don't have to spend the extra money for someone else to do it. Do you know of a good book/DVD to start with to begin to learn the process? I know that watching someone actual do it would be best, but all of my hunting buddies bring it to a butcher. Next year will be deer, but I would eventually like to learn elk too. I figured my first year would cost the same as a butcher by the time that I buy the knives, books, grinders, storage supplies, etc. but hopefully the following years would prove to show the savings.
Any ideas on where to start?
