Most people that used to hunt bears here used the Marlin Lever Action 35 Remingtons. We hope to have a return to bear hunting in the next few years.
My preference is a Winchester Trapper Lever Carbine in 44 mag and a Smith and Wesson 6" 629 in a shoulder holster.
I like the 240gr XTP bullets but many think the 300 grain bullets are better.
