Gun rack for quad

Just my 2 cents on the subject..........a couple of years back, my partner and I spent a week hunting coyotes in Nevada from our quads. I used two pairs of the ones that attach to your rack with the bands to hold them down. I was carrying both my shotgun and a heavy bolt action. Never had a problem with them the whole week we were hunting and we put a lot of miles on those bikes! My only issue was my guns were exposed to dust snow and rain. My partner on the other hand had a factory hard case on the back of his bike and his AR fit perfectly in there and was fully protected. Guess who was wiping down guns every night back at camp and who wasn't.

Kolpin makes a gun boot just for AR's. I have two of them on my Ranger EV. Tactical Gun Boot and Tactical Gun Mount.
They work really well and will hold your AR even if you have BIG scope and Harris Bi Pod on the AR.

You can go to the Kolpin website or Bass Pro, Midway etc.

In Colorado, a gun on a quad has to be fully inclosed in a case and unloaded. I built a box out of plywood and padded it with foam rubber. That could then be tied to the front or rear rack. I also put the gun in it's case and bungeed it to the bag on the rear rack. I think that is probably the easiest solution if you don't mind a little dust on your gun case.

I bought the Koplin tactical. Lot's of mounting options and the case is nice and big. I use a DPMS LR308 24" bbl, 50mm obj, and bipod with ease. The case that comes with it is junk though. Get a good soft case and toss that one.

IMO if you have a scope that might not be a good idea.

Model numbers for the KOLPIN Gun Boots for AR's 20100 and the mounts you need are model number 21005.

I got this one for my Kawasaki Mule, don't know if it would work, but it is nice.

I think on a quad that would be just like having it in it's soft case. If I had a UTV I would definitely go with something like that.

Legit question here: What would be the difference on a scope in having it in a case like the Kolpin vs having it in a case laying across the racks?

I am not a scope expert so it is a really honest question.
