Does anybody here shoot a gunwerks rifle?thinking about buying something like one of their rifles.the price tag is around 5000,I guess my question is are they worth the money? Is there other companys out there that offer something like this?would a guy be better off letting someone build a custom? Is this an average price tag for this kind of accuracy? Are there cheaper alternatives ,like buying a rifle ,changing barrel, trigger and whatever other tricks there are. I have never owned anything other than stock firearms ,nothing custom what so ever but i am very interested in owning something capable of shooting in the 1000 yard category.any input from you guys would be great especially if your already shooting something in this class of guns
Thanks

I personally don't think soIs there other companys out there that offer something like this? There sure are, for lots less money toowould a guy be better off letting someone build a custom? You get exactly what you want when you build and spec your own rifle Is this an average price tag for this kind of accuracy? This is the Internet and there are some pretty tall accuracy claims out thereAre there cheaper alternatives ,like buying a rifle ,changing barrel, trigger and whatever other tricks there are.there sure is and it would probably make you a better rifle to start out with since you say>>>>> I have never owned anything other than stock firearms ,nothing custom what so ever but i am very interested in owning something capable of shooting in the 1000 yard category.any input from you guys would be great especially if your already shooting something in this class of guns

There's an awful lot to shooting long distances and if your just starting out I would suggest doing a build on a smaller budget for practice rifle. You'll burn out a barrel just learning how to read mirage, dope wind, proper prone positioning, trigger control, your scope, breathing..... make that two barrels. There's more to shooting 1000 yards than paying 5500 bucks for a rifle and scope.

I don't have one, but I have shot several (6.5-284 and a 7LRM) out to and beyond 1000 yards. They shoot great.
They use excellent materials.

They are a total package company, including a 2-day shooting school that would be very helpful for a new person who want to get in the game. I would recommend the school either before you order a rifle from them or after you get one.

There are all kinds of custom rifles and packages available from a variety of individuals and companies.
A custom rig is much easier to shoot good with than a factory rig. It is going to come down to what you want.
You are going to have all kinds of opinions one way or the other, you will need to decide that for yourself.
I like the staff and I like their products.

I work closely with a company called LongRifles Inc... they can build you a complete custom, that is just as precise, for half that price, without the optic of course... I personally like longrange pursuit, and their show, you have to take into consideration, that is what's selling their rifles... NOTHING wrong with that, BUT you can have something just as good or better for a lesser price, not sure if you've seen this video or not, but here is some of the work LongRifles Inc. did for me...
