Just got my H.S. Hammerin Crow Call yesterday and after studying crowbusters.com and reading the back of the pamplet that came with the call, I have found out that the two main calls are made of smooth and rough notes, as in 'fuu'=smooth and 'all'=raspy. I did a quick search and saw some tips for how to call correctly and saw something about how to let your tongue hit the roof of your mouth when you say the word all.
I have been practicing in my backyard in a residental area and the crows would come to my shed/garage but then again, wild crows are completely different and I am curious if there is any advice to hand calling effectivly? Obviously I know to study the birds call and/or purchase a learning DVD preferably from crowbusters.com which I plan on doing sometime later this week. But I am curious if there are any tips. Should I be holding the call a certain way, maybe cupping near the mouth piece or muffle the end of the call or amplify it?
