Hacking the Foxpro Scorpion?

I was wondering if anyone has hacked, or tinkered with the electronics portion of this device. I would assume the 2gig memory is upgradeable, but then you may have to expand sound # from 200 to more. I was also thinking of adding two more double AA. I will attempt some modifications in the near future, but wanted to see if anyone haas done this.

Cliftonyte,
You can upgrade the card and add more sounds, but the remote will not reconize anymore than 000-199. It is in the software that runs the remote not the caller that gives you the 200 sound limit. as for the batteriesI would just call foxpro and ask if it is advisable before you take a chance and damage your caller.

Thank you,

If I own a device, I don't guess I can "Hack it" but, I can probably tinker with it if I wanted to void the warranty and run the risk of messing up what I paid money for.

If I needed more sounds and memory with both the remote and caller, I'd probably just order a Fury and sell my Scorpion.
But, that just me. "Use the right tool for the job" comes to mind.

I would not "Hack it" after paying what I did. I dont see why you would need that many more sounds on it. I have 100 on mine and use about 6 of them. I also believe it comes with a 1 GB card not a 2 GB. Sometimes I wonder how many of the problems that people are having with their calls are caused by "Hacking" at it then expect to have it fixed for free because of something they did.

+1 reb. I have a fury and a fx-3 I thought I needed more sounds but it seems that I go back and use the same 6-10 sounds the most. Once in a while I find another one that I like and run that for a while but I keep coming back to the old standbys. I wouldn't "Hack-it" Sell it and upgrade.

I use mine for hunting and photography, so the more sound options I have the better. I was more or less curious to see if anyone has ramped up power supply, with and an added speaker it seems to drain the batteries, maybe I shouldn't have used the word "hacked" just tinker. More is always better, at least for me.

You can add a 10 AA battery pack to the Scorpion, that's been discussed before. If you need a ton of extra sounds, just load up another SD card and trade them out whenever you want. That'll give you 400 sounds, only 200 at a time control from the remote though. Of course, you'll have to plug in your remote and download whatever the new soundlist is on the other card, but that's not a big deal.

Why hack the thing? Go to FOXPRO website and download their programming utility. You can back up and move sounds on and off your caller. If you own 400 sounds How many of those sounds do you really use? How many do you use in a day? I have a Scorpion, It holds 200 sounds. You could buy every sound that FoxPro sells. Store them in your computer. Move them in and out when ever you want. Why would you risk ruining your caller?
