Harrell's Precision Powder Measur

I called Harrell's precision and ordered a powder measure. Came in today and I really like the looks of it. When I tried to pay him with a credit card over the phone, he said he would just send it and I could send him a check after I got it. That is just unheard of nowdays but maybe you can trust shooters more than most people. Anyway I just thought I'd let you guys know what a nice person he was. A big thumbs up to Harrel's Precision./ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

Do they have a web site? Never heard of them myself what is there products like? WEhy is his measure better than my RCBS Uniflow?

Harrell's is the standard, for which all other Powder Measures are measured against. The best. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

It has a click adjustment on the dial so that you can make very precise changes in powder weight and is coated with some polymer that keeps it from rusting and getting stuck like my old hornady measure does. Very nice unit. I saw a couple on ebay the other day but they seem to go for an almost new price. I bought his cheapest one and he said it was the best unit but he has some higher priced ones just because some people don't think it is the best unless it costs the most...go figure.

The website is:

http://www.harrellsprec.com/

Keep in mind that the Harrells is not more accurate than the RCBS or the Redding - they all throw equally accurate charges.

The Harrells is more convenient than the others, because BR shooters often load at the range, and change loads in the middle of matches... the "click" feature makes it easier and faster to make these changes.

As far as precision... the Harrells that I owned had play in the roller bearings - the maker should have used preloaded bearings and didn't. The whole measuring drum would wobble in the body.

It still threw accurate charges.

As far as being able to make very fine adjustments (splitting a 1/10th of a grain) the Redding is better than either the Harrells or the RCBS.

The Harrells uses "click stops" for the adjustments, and it is difficult or impossible to set the drum in between clicks.

The best there is, the best there was and the best there ever will be!!!
