When I left work today I left thinking I had been fired, and my boss thought I had quit! Niether of us was correct!
Don't ask how it happened it's a long story. But after I left I called my union steward to file a grievance, the union steward calls my boss to get the details and finds out I had not been fired but I quit. When he called me back and told me what was said I called my boss and we had a good laugh. But I still have to wait a few days before I can go back to work because the paperwork for my termination had already been filed. Needless to say we were both a little perplexed when we figured out there was a communication error. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif
 
You sure you posted this in the right forum? Humor?

I am kidding you, that sure is a good example how communication between two people can get screwed up especially when there is a little stress involved. Hope all works out well.

Never happened to me, when I quit some place, there was no doubt on anyones mind. I have never been fired.

You can take Jacks comments any way you choose.
When I read, it I assumed that it was implied towards the supervisor, which is also being protected here by the union.

Just try not to take everything as a personal insult, and we will all get along better.

Ya know, it never crossed my mind that he may be referring to my boss. I apologize if there was some confusion.
