Haydel's Game Calls

Has anyone had success w/ Haydel's GHC-Cottontail? I just bought one the other day at Gander Mountain. It is a clear plastic call that produces cottontail in distress calls when blown through on one end and rodent coaxer when blown through the other end. I was wondering if someone could lend a suggestion on other easy to use calls for a beginner? Thanks.

Welcome aboard. I personally like Haydel's calls and find them realistic and easy to use. I also highly recommend Haydel's baby cottontail. It has a dual voice box in it that allows you to make the sound of a hyperventilating rabbit while producing a "traditional" distress call. It will bring tears to your eyes it sounds so realistic.

I have the GHC it sounds awesome!!!. i also got the haydels injured wood pecker its a bite call thats real high pitched it sounds really good too. if your just starting out you cant go wrong with the closed reed and bite calls. the only problems you will run into with them is in the cold they will freeze up. with the bite calls this can be avoided a little easyer than the closed reed calls (like the GHC) but it still happens. the best advise i can give is dont give up just keep callin and somthing will eventually come in!!!!

I use the Haydel PC 84, and with a few adjustments, I have done well with it. I have called out quite a few fox and coyotes with it. I have been trying the tally-ho lately, but need to tune it better to prevent freeze up.
