I'm picking up a Glock 20 Gen 3 today brand new never fired and ordered the lone wolf barrel does anyone have an idea what I could sell the Unfired 10 millimeter barrel for or is there even a market for factory barrels with so many replacements out there already thank you for the help

I don't know the answers to your questions, but you are going to love your Gen 3 Glock 20. It's a great hog gun. I put Meprolights on mine, but I think the Glock factory sights on my Gen 3 Glock 29 (in avatar) are a little better.

not sure how much demand there is. I did some looking into the aftermarket barrels and found that the velocity was better with the glock barrel and accuracy was the same with the three barrels tested. The only reason I would go with AM barrel is if I want to shoot lead which I do not

I've carried a Glock for over 20 years, trained countless recruits and seasoned LE Officers with Glocks. I've been a Glock Armorer since 1989 and have worked on my share. My advise to you......keep the factory barrel and spend your money on ammo! You won't realize any substantial performance gain, if any at all. The best dollar spent will be on ammo.....shoot more and then YOUR performance will improve!

I think the velocity claim needs some validation. I certainly couldn't say this, and I own both a Glock factory barrel and a KKM Precision barrel. And there is at least one other reason to shoot an after market barrel...Chamber support. Stout 10mm loads really need full chamber support. If one wants to shoot anemic factory ammo, then yes, stick with the Glock barrel. If one wants to shoot ammo that is loaded to the full potential of the 10mm, then one will want a fully supported chamber, and an aftermarket barrel.

I kept my Glock barrel, and do use it for practice, and for SD carry, with ammo that is safe in partially supported chambers. But I get a big grin when I drop in the KKM, and launch 200 gr. slugs at +1300 fps...Can't do that with the factory Glock barrel and not be flirting with a KABOOOM.

I appreciate everyone's point of view. my reason for rebarreling a brand new gun was the lone wolf offers a ported barrel that might help with some of the recoil as my boys will be shooting this as well.and I am only selling the factory barrel to offset the cost of the lone wolf. As for ammo I will be shooting fully charged hundred eighty grain Reloads.if somebody would like an unfired 10mm barrel I have one up for sale in the classifieds

You'll be pleased with your Lone Wolf. You might as well get the 40SW barrel as well. It's nice to have the option to swap calibers. I liked my longer Lone Wolf 10mm so much that I got the 40SW as well. My wife will even shoot the 40 barrel and she HATES all big guns.

If you don't intend to ever shoot lead bullets or need a barrel with threads for a suppressor I would not waste money on an aftermarket barrel. If you do intend to cast or just buy lead bullets then you will need it. It will not be any more accurate than the barrel you have and I personally like polygonal rifling in anything that I shoot jacketed bullets in.

Sold my Glock 20 gen 4 barrel on Glock forum for $75 back when I bought a year and a half ago and replaced it with a KKM Precision. If you want to upgrade the sights, look at Dawson Precision, I love mine. Good luck!

The factory barrel is fine. You can shoot the full power loads, just don't reload the brass to full power.

If recoil is the problem for your kids then instead of getting a ported lone wolf barrel, just get the 40sw barrel. I never had a problem with my 40sw barrel in the g20. It runs like a top and was very accurate. I found the .22lr conversion to be even more fun when I could find ammo.

I highly recommend the 40 barrel or .22lr for plinking. At the end of the session fire off some full power 10mm.

What you definitely need for full power loads is a metal guide rod and 22# lb spring.

underwood ammo loads full power 10mm at a fair price.

I used a LW barrel to switch a 45 to a 460, I like the LW parts.

I wouldn't worry about the supported/unsupported barrel issue. Overblown imo. I've got a few bajillion rounds through factory glock barrels in the oh so dangerous calibers. Never seen an issue. Just no lead through the factory barrels, although lots say they do and have no problems with it either. I'd assume you need to increase your cleaning schedule to be on the safe side though.
