I recently found a call in my collection but do not know what it is or how it should be used. It is a plastic call about 5 in. long, black and green in color. It says on the barrel, P.S. OLT, Fox Coyote Call, Model # T-20. Is this a distress call, or maybe a pups crying call? It is very high pitched and "clear" sounding. Thanks for the help guys.

Is this it? It's everything you mentioned. Good for getting them in close. Nice call, worth around 30 bucks.

Bob, that's the one and a big thank you also. Do you have any idea when this was made? Also was it marketed as a "distress" call? thanks agaun

I dunno Richie, maybe Rich can shed more light on it. The $30.00 fiqure I imagine is for an older call. Al Lux is an expert on this stuff, you might do a search on some of his posts and find an email for him. He's in the process of writing a book on collectable predator calls.

Good Luck

I do know that call, infact the Olt T-20 was the first call I ever tried in the field, back in about 1969 or there abouts?
The T-20 has been made with and without the "world logo" you see on the pic Bob posted. It also came with a black stopper and brown body with and with out the "world logo" I also have a complete black T-20 and another in camo. So that makes six variations that I know about, and maybe more will show up?
There are probably more T-20's around than any other predator call made simply because Olt had such a large distribution area, and everyone that had a box of olt duck calls on their counter also had a box of olt crow calls and a box of T-20's.
hope this helps,

al

Richie,
The T-20 was sold as a distress call alright, but you can ajust the reed in or out to make it sound like a lot of different animals & birds. I figured that Al Lux would show up and help us out on this one. When you have a question about an OLD call, you ask an OLD caller and Al is really really old.

Bob,

Hmmmmm! That call looks a lot like another call I have seen lately? Say ahhh! Maybe one that will be gone about Oh the eigth of this month?

Richie,

You can still buy the Olt T-20, just not as old as yours or the one with the World Logo on it. The new ones go from anywhere between $10.00 and $16.00 depending on where you buy it.

Boy, what a timely post this was for me! I have recently decided to "get into" predator hunting, and have purchased a couple mouth calls, and started to work on my RS version ecaller. The other day while looking through some hunting "stuff," I came across an Olt T-20. It was my first game call, from 25+ years ago. I had completely forgotten about it. When I rediscovered it, I blew on it and thought it sounded odd, figured it wasn't worth anything, and almost threw it out. Lo and behold, here is this post, reaffirming to me reasons to hang on to the call and learn to blow it properly!

What a great and useful forum this is. Thanks, guys!

i have one, the first call i ever owned. used to blow it alot when i was a kid, but that was before internet and sites like this. think its time to get that call out and dust it off.....the high pitched sound should be a great new sound for the call shy yoties around me. thanks for the rekindling. will give a report later.
