Help me pick a choke tube

First off I am going to be ordering a couple carlson choke tubes in the near future but my buddy is going to BassPro this evening and i am not able to via wife. Also she doesnt need to know about the choke tubes. Here's three options they keep instock which are ported models which i want. First off is the TruGlo Gobble Stopper Extreme series .665 diameter, Primos Tightwad .660, or a Kicks High Flyer. Price wise the latter is the most expensive and i'm looking for something reasonable to use in my new 870 supermag for coyote till I get the others.

FordTruckGuySTX,
Did your Super magnum come with extended turkey choke? If so, you could pick up a box of Winchester or Federal 3" magnum shells in BB shot size. Get the copper plated and buffered stuff though. I read where Carlson was working on a special choke tube for the Hevi-shot "Dead coyote" fodder if you are interested in shooting the tungston loads.

true-glow are manufactured by Mark Bansner of turkey choke fame, He pioneered the choke industry back in the early to mid 80's, you won't go wrong there, he knows how to make shotguns shoot.

He does, however, he doesn't do shotgun work anymore concentrating on rifles now.

yes he does, the month of january he still does shotguns, or did the last time I talked to him. he told me that after the screw in choke revelation started, he lost most of the demand for his turkey/predator choke conversions since most folks could walk in wally world and buy a choke that shot well.

thanks for input guys I got the TruGlo Gobble Stopper. Didn't wanna spend the money on kicks right now when i'm ordering carlsons soon. I'll let you guys know how it performs.

RR,
Are you saying only the month of January, or he quit after January, or as the last you knew in January, he still did shotgun work? Because my information could be wrong and I'd like to know. My info was that he was concentrating soley on custom rifles now and would not accept shotgun work any longer. Guys like Bansner, Van Comp, Briley, Nitro/Rhino are loosing business because shotgun makers are doing a better job with their barrels and choke makers are flourishing. That's gotta be tough on business. Yet, I'm surprised at how a company like Nitro/Rhino stays in business. $100 choke and $7.00 per shell, not counting any load developement or specialty work, and they seem to be doing fine.

FordTG,
Yea, please keep us informed how all your chokes do, the Carelson's too. Good luck and good hunting!

he's busy building rifles, making the gobbler stoppers under contract for true glow, and he bought the stock company that builds the stocks he uses, but last I heard if you sent him your shotgun before january he still did the turkey/predator choke conversions on them, but he only did shotgun work the month of january.he has a site, do a search and email him, he'll tell ya for sure. His chokes really shoot, he did one for me in 1986, and a truckload of gobblers would testify to that if they could.
