I have a Bushmaster V match that has the free float tube. I would like to know how hard it is to get this off. I want to replace it with Daniel Defense rails. There is not a front sight so I am hoping that it would not require major dissasembly . Thanks in advance..

A good strap wrench is all you should need to remove a free float tube. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yeah that too! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif If you already have a free float tube on there. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif

A strap wrench may come in handy. However, if the tube is held in place with a locking collar, you'll need the special wrench to break it loose first. OR... I've heard of folks using a spanner for adjusting motorcycle shocks works just as well... I've never gone that route, so your mileage may vary...

I think I am still screwed /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif even If I unscrew the tube the nut will come off with the tube. So it appears major dissasembly is inevitable?
