Help tanning coon?

Last night I trapped a coon and right now it's still alive at home awaiting skinning this afternoon. I was hoping someone could give me some detailed info on tanning the pelt. I want the cheapest and easiest method to tan it. (emphasis on CHEAP) i also am aware coon skin is unusually fatty and greasy how do I deal w/ that? Also, I've heard of using borax baking soda on pelts, does this work on raccoons?

Skin
Split the ears
Salt for 48 hours
Rehydrate for a few hours
Pickle for 48 hours
Flesh the hide get all fat and meat off
Degrease then back to pickle for another 24 hours
Neutralize
Tan

Long story short. Coons are thought critters work on

I did a real crappy rushed job of skinning it, in addition, i really am not looking to spend a bunch of money on supplies so I first got it home and did a quick fleshing to it, then i let it sit tacked to the board with borax on it(IDK why, wasn't thinking), then today, i got off as much oil as i could by washing in palmolive and water, and rubbing the palmolive strait into it and rinsing it. But, it was still greasy so i said screw it and sprayed it with mean green(an industrial strength degreaser like simple green, and rinsed, then i towel dried it, then air dried it over a fan, then when only slightly moist, i put a layer of salt and a thin layer of borax over it to repel any insects. I plan to just continue to dry it like this, then cure it a bit more with borax, and maybe rub a little mineral oil into it in the end. Im not expecting a high quality pelt, i really just wanted to try my hand at it, and maybe, get a pelt to hang on the wall for a couple years.
