Help w/ Rem 700 classic part.

I bought a Rem 700 Classic last spring in 220 Swift. I noticed that the pumpkin head who owned it before me filed the little "catch tab" on the floor plate where it snaps into place, probably because it worked hard when he went to unload the gun full of loaded cartridges. Now, the darn thing opens up automatically after firing it, spilling the remaining full cartridges in it out onto the shooting table. Where can I find a replacement , what do I search for on the website if I look for one, and how much do they go for??? Thanks to all who offer their help, Rich.

P.S. I am having trouble finding one on Midway and Natchez.

It's just the standard BDL bottom metal. Try Brownells. You can get just the floor plate latch, part #767-000-131 for $8.10 retail, or you can the whole short action T. G, assembly for just under 82.00.

Another place to look is Numriches. Web address is e-gunparts.com. I have gotten alot of stuff from them and they are very reasonable on prices.
