help with new rifle

i wanna get a rifle like marine snipers use, i know ima get a remington 700 but i heard that the marines are switching from .308 to the 300 win mag. what should i get.

I would get the .308 win. The ammos cheaper, less recoil, and the barrel life is alot longer.

This sort of pertains to the thread, A couple years ago McMillan bought back from the USMC the original M40A1 stocks when they (USMC) switched from the M40A1 to the M40A3. They were for sale to the public, with the original bottom metal, and I was lucky enough to get 3 of them. I only wish the stocks could talk.

Here's the certificate of authenticity from McMillan.

I've done 2 rifles so far on the USMC stocks, I Still have one of the stocks sitting here empty.

SuperSeal110 also picked up one of the USMC return stocks and built a rifle on it. Here's his with a first round hit on a 1000yard P'Dog target at the range.

None of our rifles are 100% Clones, but they're not bad for what they are and the stocks are a true piece of history.

If you want a clone built to USMC specs, all you have to do is be able to cut the check and wait for it to arrive.

I'm 54 with a retirement and a wife that has a great job, and I don't have that kind of cash to drop on a rifle like that!!!
