Gary,
Read the "reviews" on Midways' website for the adapter. One guy writes how to overcome an alignment issue he ran into using the adapter on his older Herters. Good Luck!

I bought a Herter's #3 new in 1956 and, while I have added two Dillon 550's, the old Herter's press still fills all my single stage reloading needs.

Vega Tool makes obsolete shell holders. Check them out here:

Thanks for the help everyone. Ihave not reloaded in 30 years and it is time to give it a whirl.with shell holders available i'll put this old Herters relic back in service. thanks again everyone Gary

I have a Herter's #3, i sent for in 1968. It is still functing very well along with my RCBS. Oh for your information RCBS makes an adaptor (specifically for the Herter press) it is #99200. I use both presses. One to form the casing (herter's) the other (RCBS) to set the bullet. You'll have a fun time getting back to reloading. Maybe a little rusty at first but it all comes back.
