Hide tanning

My son wants a tanned coyote hide (fur on) of a coyote he kills himself. This is for a school project (Native American studies project). We can get the dog without too much problem, but I am wondering if there is ample information to tan it ourselves or if there is someone we can send it to for a reasonable fee.

Judging by the time you made your post in the other topic handirifle, I'm going to assume you got the info you were looking for.

If not let us know /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

skin it and scrape off all the meat and fat. now salt it, put it on thick. the next day scrape off all the salt and add new. after it starts to get stiff from the salt fold it to fit in a box. now contact riverrunner for a shipping lable and send it off to him. remember people this is the guy who anwsers all the ? on this site and does a great job of it, and would you believe he don't get a pay check for it. lets look at the people on this board as a kind of family and truely support each other.
