HOGUE HANDGUARD

I am wanting to install a hogue over molded hand guard on my AR carbine, has anyone tried one and if so, are they a two piece and did you have to replace the gas tube with a prebent one? Any advice would be very helpful.

I put one on my rifle length and it one peice and fit my existing gas tube. It does touch but doesnt affect performance at all.

Will I have to take my factory a frame front site off to install?

Yes, you will have to remove your existing front gas block/site, I believe hogue recomends a different gas tube or bending yours on the carbine models

I dont like em cuz you have to use a strap wrench to install it. I prefer the conventional method with a torque wrench.

The Hogue is a free float tube so you need to take the Delta ring and such off to install.

Free float is about half way down...
