Holographic sight on a bow

Due the eye problems I can no longer use a peep/pin sight on a bow. I found some inexpensive holosights and mounts for a bow on Amazon. Not much to invest, under $50. complete. It takes a little effort to get things lined up but they seem pretty reliable and pretty accurate.

I don't use the single red dot but the circle dot or circle and crosshair with the top of the reticles same as a 25 yard pin, the center is the 35 yard pin and the bottom 40 yard and have taken it out to 50 yards with Kentucky windage.

I've tried red dots and holographic sights on rifles and shotguns and much prefer LPVO but on the bow they work great for me. I've been shooting the Holographic sight for about 5 years now.

Trying to save a few bucks I've been buying inexpensive Amazon pure carbon arrow $30/dz. I can order them to length and spine, they have decent inserts and knocks. I prefer helical fletching so strip the factory fletching and re-fletch them here in the shop. I've been pleasantly surprised how accurate they are.

Now if I can get a coyote to stand still and inside 45 yards. I more than likely spend oct chasing them with the bow

Here's the mount I use. It mounts using the regular sight holes in the riser. If you try this be sure the holo sight has all the adjustments on the side away from the riser.

There is a company that makes an adjustable mount so you can dial elevation. Down side is the cost is 20 t0 40 times more.

Just be careful with it. I've known a lot of people try different types of red dots and such and they not hold zero.

As for cheap arrows. Go to wal-mart after deer season and buy a few dozen of the Carbon Express Terminators whenever they mark them down.

I've been running these for five years. I try and shoot at least 20 arrows a day outside of hunting season, as I have my range in the back yard 23 yards and have permission to set up a bag behind the house to check zero out to 50 yards.

Most of the time that I lose zero is because of my hold or forgetting to keep the bow vertical. If I fix my form the arrows return to POA. I have burned out a light in one and upgraded to a better battery system for n another but they are only $30/ea..

That's good. I have been wanting to shoot some, but it's just been too hot.

Speaking of cheap arrows...

Have you seen the new Ultraview arrows? $440 a dozen.

$440 a dozen! Do they shoot themselves? Defy gravity?

I’ll just keep slinging my Beman Hunter arrows. They’ve been poking through whitetail lungs for years just fine.
