I finally got my Hornady shellholder that I ordered on 2-17-2011 ! Of course 6 weeks ago they said it was shipped, but to the wrong address. I said, well as soon as you get it back send it to me! They said that the shipping dept had the info, and would get right on it. Well, Now after 4 monthes I finally have it. Yaayyy! How can you beat customer service like that?
Downside is, now I have alot of .243 cases to trim... lol

actually that does surprise me! They have been great with
everything i've ever gotten from them, including fast shipping. Sorry to hear you had so much trouble, that really
sucks! Paul

In Cabelas defence, even Hornady was out of their own shell holders. Guess .243 is popular? But Cabelas should have re-shipped mine to the proper address when they recieved it.

I switched my corporate credit card to Cabela's to earn points and maybe buy my son's Christmas with those points. If you every carry a balance on a Credit Card don't get it.

I've never had anything but excellent customer service from Cabelas.
They even took a return on a spotting scope I bought 11 years prior. Gave me full credit for it too.

I dont like Cabelas anymore.... I was just in there thursday shopping for some ammo. I SPECIFICALLY asked the 3 guys behind the counter if the ammo (that i was holding and showing them) was going to be going on sale within the next couple of weeks. all three of them "nope" "shouldnt be" and "no, it was on sale last week" well guess what the mail man delievered... a Cabelas news paper deal that said the same exact ammo i was asking about was on sale for about $25 less than what i bought it for... I got hosed for what i spent on it and now its reasonably priced... They did the same exact thing to my dad when he was buying ammo last month...

But i cant complain i guess i did get my gun for a killer price.

There is no way in hxll I would have waited for a shellholder for four months for the most common case head size on the planet...but hey thats just me.

Why would't you go to your local gunshop for something like that. By the time you paid shipping on it, I bet you were close to what the local guy sold it for.

When I was living in Reno I found that Cabelas was outrages on their instore pricing. I got to were I wouldn't even shop there anymore.

Also Cabelas Credit Cards be wary. If your credit score drops they will cancel your card. I have been out of work for awhile but made sure my Cabelas card was always paid on time. I was struggling abit on some other stuff and my credit score dropped abit and Cabelas cancelled my card. Was never late on it once.

I have had no complaints about Cabelas, however I don't use them very much, I either go with midsouth or graf's, much better pricing and they both kick serious tail with their customer service.

Funny. I guess I've just been lucky. I've been dealing with Cabelas since sometime in the 70's and I've never had a problem.

In retrospect, Cabelas was not really the problem. "Other than the first botched shipping" It was Me for purchasing a trimmer that Only a Hornady shell holder fits. When everyone is out, you are at the Mercy of the manufaturer. No more Hornady stuff for me, or any other brand where you are forced to use non-interchangable shell holders. Lesson learned..

That explains the long wait. I couldn't for the life of me figure out why you would wait so long for a standard shellholder. I have never seen a Hornady case trimmer. Just an FYI the RCBS trimmer II with the shell plate case holders are exclusive to their trimmer as well.
