Horizon Firearms is Working with Hornady to get the .22 Creedmoor SAAMI Approved in 2024

I posted on the varmint page. Was directed here. I'm looking to see if anyone has any experience with the 22 CM? I'm considering making it my primary long range benchrest sage rat, PD and rock chuck setup???

No experience with a 22CM but I 100% will guarantee it will be a barrel burner sobe ready to buy blanks!

If a guy doesn't intend to shoot much or get an opportunity to hunt much it might be ok but IMO if you intend on volume shooting you should look into the 6br or 22br. Tons of records and data for the 6br and 2500-3000 rounds of barrel life.

I'm thinking 1500-2000??? $695 to rebarrel. But look at how far you can reach out!

Not a chance! A 243 or 6cm is in the 1200-1500 range and I would guess the 22cm would be 1k to 1200.

Same powder and case as its 6mm brothers but a little smaller hole!

It would be a 1:8, shooting 75-80 grainers, not completely topped out on fps. So yeah, with what I'm hearing / reading (mainly off Horizon) I think higher. Never the less, it'll go quicker than I want.! IMHO of course.

Yea, look how far you can reach out! Can YOU reach out as far as you'd like to? I don't much hunt varmints anymore and if I did I'd get either a 222 Rem or a 223 Rem. No reason to fool myself how good I think I might be. My old 222 and 223's could out shoot me anytime.
