I've been wondering about these bullets, does anyone have any experiance with them? It's the heaviest bullet I can load to mag length, and was wondering how it performs, bolth on paper and on coyotes?

Thinking of givin it a try in my RRA w/ 1-8 twist, 18"?

Thanks for the input

Vent,
I shoot the 75 hornady bthp and the Sierra 77gr matchkings all the time.

The hornady has a better BC and groups a little tighter for me in my 1-8 18" barrels.

My furthest shot on a coyote was 450yds and put him right down with the 75grn Hornady.

I think you'll like them alot.

Todd and Jeff the Predator Pursuit guys use these i believe...i tried a couple boxes of factory hornady loaded with these and i was not impressed.

i only shot 4-5 coyotes with them but 2 of them just punched through almost like a fmj so i quit using them. the ones that did expand hit like a ton of bricks however.

not trying to knock this bullet or anyone who uses them i am just stating my limited experience with them.

I'm going out this saturday with these bullets, hopefully I'll have some better info on shorter ranges. The 450yd one i shot didn't have any exit hole.

Yep,

We have used them for a couple years now. They are a good bullet if you hit heavy bone, but like stated above they dont perform well through the ribs. We hunt for footage and try and punch the shoulder blade every chance we can to get the DRT effect. They work great for that, but lack if you are a lung popper.

They are a very accurate bullet for sure!

I am going to pick up a box of these and I'm wondering what kind of velocity you guys are getting from a 20" AR and with what powder? My Hornady manual shows a top end of 2700fps in a 20", but that manual runs pretty conservative IME. Hodgdon data on the net shows several loads in the 2850-2900fps range, unknown barrel length though.

I'll be running them in a Predator Pursuit w/ 1-8" twist.

Thanks

Its all about shot placement. My neice killed a deer here in AZ a few years back with a 77gr SMK at 120yds. Killing a deer with a .22 caliber bullet is doable, just need to make sure of your shot placement.
