Hornady concentricity tool

Has anyone used Hornady's new concentricity tool yet and what are your opinions on it? Add says not only does it check for concentricty and run out but can correct it by putting pressure on bullet in case and correcting run out . is this acctually work or are you causing a bigger problem to bullet and case by bending to correct run out? Or is this just a slick sales gimmick!

I've been using one for about 6 mos. now. They do work well and yes you can straighten your runout. When the dial indicator is at the low reading simply apply a bit of pressure with the thumb screw on the bullet. (takes a bit of getting used to) What I am finding is the shorter the bullet the more runout. I was working up some 30 cal. test loads a few days ago with 125 and 150 grn. Sierra bullets. I loaded 15 rounds of each with varying powder charges, 13 of the 150,s were less than .002 and the other two were sligthtly over. With the short 125 grn. pills, 7 of them were over .002 and a few went as high as .005. It's just another way of eliminating one variable in the quest for accuracy.............

I use one also and it is the berries.
But I have never used it to straighten any runout,I use it mostly to find where my problems are comming from in the first place and then make corrections and recheck.
Just a side note I do anneal and turn all my brass and have found this corrects most of my runout problems.

I've had mine for about 9 months. I really like it. I also anneal and turn all my cases. I loaded up a dummy round and on purpose tweaked the bullet somewhat. The tool right away showed the runout. It took a few tries but I finally figured out how to straighten out the runout. I have spent many hours in setting up my equipment up properly and most all my rounds are within .001 to .002. It sure is a good feeling when you see those numbers. Any round that comes out over .003 I tweak it a bit and then use it for shooting at rocks or song dogs. As GrizleyHunter stated, I also feel the tool is great asset in locating problems. Good Luck.

For accuracy it will be difficult to beat. took a while for me to buy one, but now I wouldn't be without it. I do everything from .22 caliber to my 300 wsm. And yes what the above posters have said is all true.

IMHO,
If you want to check AND adjust concentricity, Hornady is hard to beat. Now I do have a Sinclair Concentrcity gauge as well, but the problems is not the reading (which is actually more accurate than the Hornady), but you can't adjust the concentrcity whereas the Hornday provides the ability to make an adjustment. I've had the Hornady the longest (2 yrs) and is an excellent tool to have especially if you are an accuracy freak like me.
