Hornady lock n load press?

So I have been using the hornady lock n load press with the bushings. Do you think I’m getting any kind of inconsistency with this press and the bushing system? Seems like it’s getting harder to get consistent reloads for me
Lately. I have been reloading for 7 years and have loaded thousands of rounds off this press. What would you recommend for a press? Have thought about Redding t7, forestor coax, what about the Frankfort coax? And advice would be greatly appreciated. I would love the area419 but it’s out of my price range for a press.

Inconsistent how? Runout bad or oal Inconsistent?

The quick change bushings never interested me much, I mean it takes all of 20 seconds to screw a die into a press. Lock rings should be set and locked after adjusting the first time anyway. I'm using a 30 year old rock chucker and I think if I replaced it I'd get a summit.

I have a Redding T7 with 6 spare turrets. All full of dies.

Love the set up. I try to get 2 calibers per turret. I will never go back to only a single stage. Though my bench has 2 singles and the T7.

A dehumidifier and Boeshield T-9 will be your friend.

It's a good press. I had a pre lock and load years ago, along with C&H-2, Lyman-3, Pacific-1, RCBS-1, Herters-1, and Lee-4 over the years and still have Lee and Lyman on the bench. None of them loaded bad ammo, some were just handier to use or I just got the itch to try something different.

I personally think the care you put into loading your ammo is far more important than the press you use.

I’ve got the lock n load. Great press.

I’m guessing your having trouble due to the cam over or the highest point in the stroke of the ram is actually just before the handle is all the way down.
