Hello all!

I just got a Savage 10/110 Predator Hunter in .243 with a 9.25 twist. I picked up some Hornady Z-Max 58 Grain Boat Tail projectiles and was wondering if anyone has a load worked up for them that I can research.

This will be my first rifle reloads I have done, I have only done pistole so far. The round will be used for Coyotes and Bobcats.

Thanks!

My best load has been 42.7g of H4895 using a Win primer or 43g using a Wolf primer. The win primer pushes the load a little harder giving about 3,780 fps while the Wolf goes at about 3,710. Both are shooting very good groups with a lot of .3's and .4's. I'm seating at 2.650 oal. I'm shooting the model 11 trophy hunter with the same twist.

Look for vmax data, same bullet and its been around long enough for tons of data to be available. If you go to the hodgdon site they will have a long page of load info.

concam as you know every rifle is different. I tried IMR 4895, IMR 4064, IMR 8208, Varget, H380, and CFE 223 with the 58 zmax. I was able to shoot sub moa with all of them but H4895 gave me the best combination of accuracy, velocity, and low SD while using about a grain less powder. Actually I didn't do much work with 8208 as I was already keying in on H4895. 8208 is my favorite powder in the 204 with H4895 a close second.

Remember to start low and work up. In my rifle I was not able to get to the max loads shown on Hodgdon's website without signs of pressure with H380 or CFE 223.
