Hey guys, I'm wondering how much it will cost me to build my own AR-15, just a base model, I dont have a lot of money and just want to start with a base model and go from there.
if anyone can point me in a good direction for some deals I would greatly appreciate it!

with my C&R license and my midway discount I could put together one for under $600, that would be a DMPS or superior arms lower, and a 16" DPMS bull upper, about the cheapest one I have done is $180 for superior arms lower and $365 for a DPMS bull upper for a total of $545 plus shipping and FFL transfer, (free for me) the gun would still need a trigger job and a clip, but hey its a long ways from the 1k people are paying for complete guns, infact paying close to 1k for a factory put together AR is ridiculous and stupid!!!

Yeah on AR15.com they have some awesome deals but they go fast. I saw a A2 on there like 2 days ago for 550.

They have parts kits that are good quality starting at about $470. You have to come up with a stripped lower in addition to the kit because the lower is the serialized item that must be sold and have paperwork filled out as a firearm.
You can change out parts to get exactly what you want or even buy partial kits if your financing requires.
There are less expensive places but I have been real happy with their quality.

Here are a couple of places, I have used or know people who have, Del-Ton sells all the parts to do one fairly cheap, Eaglefirearm.net, at times has really good prices, I have a friend with a Del-ton upper he got the standard A3 20" upper and it will shoot right on 1/2" at 100 yards. If I was going to do another one I would go to Del-ton.com and order a Stag lower and their 20"rifle kit, add the Rock River trigger and a DPMS float tube (kit options)and you should be under $700 shipped for a really nice rifle.

Not sure on the prices you fella's are quoting, but you can get a complete lower with stock and parts for around $275.00 and an upper will run around $400.00 then you are looking at a scope and scope mounts as well.
