My friend has a coon squall mouth blown call but neither of us have any idea how to use it. What techniques have any of you had success with a coon squall?
Any help would be greatly appreciatd.

Thanks

djr,
Most coon squallers are designed to sound somewhat like an angry raccoon growling. Their main purpose is to cause a treed raccoon to look at you so that you can see where he is in your light. These calls are used mostly by those who hunt raccoon at night with aid of dogs. If you want to actually call raccoon, you can learn to trill your tounge into a predator call and make it sound somewhat like a bird in distress.

Ritch is right about them looking at you also you can use them to sound like a kit coon getting hurt lots of short choppy squeels try to sound like your getting chewed on real bad. Any way I have had coon come down the tree and jump right into three hounds baying and raising cain at the bottom of the tree. Needless to saw the hounds won the fight.
