You realize that hundreds of years of hands-on trial and error went in to making long barrels (26"-28"-30") the standard for everything but modern Turkey shotguns, and even some Turkey hunters still prefer longer barrels? So 95% or more of the shotgunners who have ever lived disagree with you.
I'm just not wild about a shotgun barrel being over 26". Guess that comes from shooting a rifle most of my life. To me the long barrels just seem awkward. I know there's a reason for them.
