I don't see it that way. I think some come to forums to ask questions. But in my view you come here to learn about what questions even need to be asked. You learn about things you don't even know you wanted to learn about. I do agree certain forums like say f150 forums I visit sometimes. I normally go there to solve a problem. OR look to see what things are problems, in which case an AI solution is a replacement.
something about my personality. Some people on forums, not so much here but other ones I visit probably see me as argumentative. heck most probably don't like me, LOL. but what I am really doing is testing my own conclusions under the weight of others opinions. I feel I have a unique way of handling negative feedback. I take it in, process it, then ask is any of this a valid criticism. Did I miss anything, has anyone poked holes in my conclusion. The only problem with this is I expect others to be able to handle it that way. which they almost always don't. Instead when challenged they back into a corner and start changing the subject and finding other crap to lob at me. My wife is the classic case of this. The entire kitchen sink comes out and stuff that wasn't a problem now is. I have learned to avoid that as I get older.
as a kid I was told I had learning disabilities and had to go to different classes than the rest of my friends. I guess in a way negative feedback I just grew up with, thats the only thing I can think of that makes me that way. but thats the long way of saying why I personally like to visit forums. its a test of my notions and ideas.
