Jump over to rimfirecentral.com and inquire. Ton's of good info available.

My guess would be that there is a reasonable drop-in replacement trigger - maybe Rifle Basic - for your rifle.

My last gunsmith trigger job was on a Howa heavy barrel .243 bench/varmint rifle..set at 11 oz. I adjust my hunting triggers between 2-2.5 pounds which works for me.

Have to 'fess up..I'm just an old trigger puller but I shot factory triggers from age 13 to age 65 and was fat, dumb and happy..then had a new friend introduce me to a GOOD trigger. They will make a noticeable difference in your shooting performance, IMHO.

I put a rifle basix trigger group in my Marlin 917VSS and I Love it...the only problem is I have to warn people when they shoot it the first time or it always scares them. Mines set very light but you can adjust the pull to your liking. I think they cost like $80 from Cabelas.

I have a Remmy 11-87 with a 2 lb or less trigger. Its my long range deer gun with scope on top. I use while sitting over a big clear cut.
My pistol triggers on my carry guns hover around 4 lbs. and my USPSA pistols have triggers that go down to 1 1/2 lbs. My Ruger Super Blackhawk has a 1 1/2 lb trigger and my GP100 has a 2 lb. SA trigger.

Once you shoot a good trigger, you will be spoiled for life.
