How many of you use an Encore?

It seems that almost all the shows these days on the various outdoor channels are sponsored by T/C. I'm just wondering how many of you use Encores. If so, which cartridge are you running in it? Likes, dislikes?

I have Encore's , Contender's and a Contender G2 , along with several barrels . Most of my barrels are customs but I do have a few factory T/C barrels . They are very versitile firearms . You can get barrels in just about any rifle or pistol caliber and shotgun barrels too .

Everyone should have at least one Encore or Contender !

I have barrels chambered in :
17 Ackley Hornet (2)
17 Mach IV
22 Hornet
22 K Hornet
22 BR
6 BR
243 Ackley Improved
50 caliber black powder (209X50)
12 ga fully rifled

And plans for others as funds allow .

I would agree with Brian. I too have Encores and Contenders in pistol lengths, Carbine barrels and long barrels as Brian stated I do not have any factory barrels only custom ones.

Everything

Dislikes:
I sat here and tried to think of what I dislike... and to be honest I cant think of one. I guess the one thing I could say that I dislike would be its strength as I wish I could have any caliber in it and I could reload the ammo like I was shooting in a bolt gun.

Barrels I have:

20PPC will be on its way shortly!
22Hornet
223AI
243AI
6.5X284
280AI
300wsm
338rem
375JDJ
411JDJ

I am on my fifth one. No good reason for selling them. Sometimes I get bored with a gun and sell it, but always seem to buy another TC. The B.P. guns shoot awsome and once I figured what my 280 liked, its a good shooter also. Just a really neet gun. Dislikes: If I put my spare bullets in my pocket, I always seem to try to load my pocket knife in the chamber, duh. Guess thats not the rifles fault is it?

I'll add to the list. T/C Custom Shop 26" 6.5x55 Swede in the blue and standard taper. Shoots ,1/2" groups with the Nosler Ballistic Tips, 100 gr and under 1" with 140 gr Nosler Partitions.

I love the round and see no need for another barrel for the frame...

I have 1 Encore .50ML and 3 Pro hunters, a 25-06, 20 gauge slug and another .50 ML.

I prefer hunting with them over anything else. I am going to order from the T/C "custom shop" a pro hunter stainless
in 250-3000 in the 26" sporter weight contour with flutes. It will be a nice carry rifle.

I have a heavy barrel .223, the same in 7mm Rem Mag, a .45 cal ML, and a .25 X.307 wildcat custom barrel. I love these rifles, (once I figured out how to tune and load for them).

Latest from the .25, a measured 264 yard once shot kill, no tracking, dropped on the spot.

I have an Encore with a standard 24 inch 223 barrel and I have a 26 inch 308 bull barrel from the custom shop. The only thing I don't like is someday if I happen to call in a double I only got one shot.

I just entered the Encore arena. It's a Virgin Valley Custom .257 Weatherby, 26". I love the way they handle. A 26" barrel feels like a 20" or 22". Gonna have to learn to reload fast though. I'm still slow.

I also shoot a T/C Encore. I have a 26" in 25-06 and a .50 ML. I havnt shot the .50 yet but I hear they shoot great. The 25-06 shoots like a dream. I shot a jackrabbit with it last night at about 250 yards. Recoil is light in my opinion. My frame is stainless/camo stock. In the near future I plan on getting a custom barrel in 22-250, 204 and maybe .243. The feel of the Encore feels better then most bolt guns. I like the longer LOP and the way the stock is designed. Here is a pic of the 25-06 with Nikon 3-9x40.

Here the target I used to sight it in. 1, 2, and 3 were shot to get her sighted in and 4, 5, 6, and 7 where shot as fast as I could reload. Shot at 75 yards.

I am thinking about getting one from the custom shop, I like the look of the case hardened frames I want to build a 338-06 and I see that the custom shop has barrels in that chambering. I have long thought the TC would be good since i like to experiment with differant loads and chamberings. But get tired of them and sell or trade them off the TC lets you build a rifle to your specs and then just swap barrels as whim or need arise.

I have to admit I have been looking at the new remmington single shot as well, I can buy two or three of them for what the TC in that 338-06 will cost by the time I get done with wood and other options.

I have the encore... 17 rem, 223 Rem and 19-223 Calhoon; 19" barrels.

some times wonder if I wouldn't have been money ahead with 3 bolt guns vs 3 single shot barrels, but I do like the feel of the rifle.

Just picked up a 50 Cal ML Pro hunter barrel for mine today. I have a pistol barrel in 7mm-08 and a 20 guage rifled slug barrel so far. I am a fan of the encore! I am hoping for great things out of the 28 inch ML barrel and plan to take it after Elk this fall.
