How many pellets in 2 3/4" shell

How many pellets (approximately) are in a 2 3/4" shotgun shell. The shot size looks like #6 or #7 1/2. I don't know if it came from a 12 gauge, 20 gauge, or any other gauge for that matter. I am just assuming it is a 2 3/4" shell.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Straycat,

Thank you, very helpful. A little too busy right now to get home and tear apart a shell and count pellets. Working on a case and needed the info. Is there a website with the same information that I could keep in my favorites.
