How many rounds do you carry?

When you're making sets, how many rounds do you carry along?

For a rifle, or a shotgun?

Do you carry more or less depending on whether you're only hitting one or two sets, or hitting 10 in a row?

usually about 20 rounds extra and 2 or 3 extra magazines that are loaded up. Can only have 5 or less rounds in the mags here. About 10 - 15 extra for the shotgun too.

I carry 10 rounds. That is two magazines for my R-15 or two full loads for my 870. I sometimes carry a single shot shotgun as well, with maybe 5 rounds. That is probably overdoing it because I am usually not more than a few hundred yards from my truck. But there are days that I will cover 15 or more miles on foot (mostly scouting for other hunts with calling mixed in). Those days I may carry a little more. Got to love the 45 million acres of public hunting land in Arizona.

If I park the Jeep and plan on making one stand and returning, I will load the mag, be it shotgun or rifle, and that's all the ammo I take.

If I plan on doing some walking and making sets along the way, I *might* stuff a few extra rounds in a pocket. Rather I do that or not kinda depends on the feeling I'm getting for that particular day. Some days just have that *feel* to em. Others, not so much.

There are those days when I feel like I don't even need to load the gun. Other days I might feel like I didn't leave the house with enough ammo.

If I lived in Arizona I would dang sure carry a fully stocked bandoleer on each and every stand!

And maybe I misunderstood the question. duh

If you're asking how much ammo I leave home with for the day, I'm normally pretty well stocked for a day. Like 20 extra rounds (somewhere in the vehicle)..

usaully i carry about 10 rounds .. all i use right now is a shotgun since i hunt alot of thick places and if i get low from shooting aint far from the truck to get some more .

a full 20 rd mag in the gun axtra couple of 20's in the truck, if i"m sneaking up on hogs I carry an extra 20 on me, ran out one night on a group of 30+ hogs having not topped the mag off first,

Normally 10 in the .204 or .223. I always have extra in the truck. If I doing a lot of walking I will use a 20 round clip and load it to the brim.

3 in the Shotgun 3 extra's on me and 5 in the .45 Long Colt.

It depends. In my AR I like to keep it topped off at 20 rounds. In my bolt action rifles I keep 4 in the rifle and 5 or so in my pack. Unless I'm going all day, and then, I might just put a new box of ammo in my pack just in case.

With my rifle, I carry 4 in the gun, five on the stock, 25 in my pack and about 40 in the truck. With the shotgun, 4 in the gun, five on the stock, and 15 in the pack.

full mag in the rifle,(5rds) and i have a 9 round shell holer on the stock that is always filled. if im going to be away from the truck for most of the day(very seldom) ill carry an extra 10 rounds. never carry a shotgun. in the truck i have a 50rd box that will be full and possible a 20rd box as well. very seldom do i shoot more than 10rds in a day but it has happened

No, it's a joke on Arizona and the illegals that are sometimes run into while out hunting. The people that smuggle them are called "coyotes".

Since I seldom see one, I could probably get by with carrying two rounds for a day

, but I take a full ten round magazine...or nine rounds on my CZ, in a butt sleeve...

Exactly!

Those 210 rounds are for self defense, and believe me we come across some very shady individuals/special interest groups on a regular basis around here. Hopefully none of them will ever be used.
