...is too much? A good number of my hunting spots in NY and PA are just about in snow belts. For those unaware of impact...one spot will have 6 inches of snow, and a mile north will have 2 feet. So, how deep is too deep to hunt?
The condition of the snow is more important than the depth. I don't like any snow that makes too much noise to walk across it. We've had 4" of snow, the next day the sun melts it enough for it to freeze overnight and the next day it's like walking across broken glass for the amount of noise it makes.
A good 10" of snow will make it difficult for the coyotes to move fast, so if you get a shot at one, they're usually not running. Also, it makes finding food more difficult, so their out searching longer and tend to be easier to call.
