I had seen some posts suggesting using brake light tape...I tried that and barely any light passed through. I can not find anything online. Any ideas? Markers? Translucent paint?

I use a standard red magic marker on a glass lensed million+ cp spot . I can identify targets at 300yds with it.Simple rubbing alcohol will take it off for clear light .

I went to a music store and bought sheets of film like they use for concert lighting. You can buy any color you want then cut it to fit any lights you want to put it on. I bought yellow, orange, and red. Which color you use just depends on how much light you want. Super cheap and it works awesome!!!!

What he said,I usually recommend the red gels for band lighting. I've spoken to a few guys who have used the red sharpies and sometimes they think it's a little too bright, but it may work for you. The reason I asked about your light was that if it was not that strong you may have not gotten the distance you were hoping for after putting the "red" on.

Thanks, so living up here in the middle of nowhere, where there are more moose than people...lol I am not going to find any supply stores carrying stage lighting accesories. Would you say my light is bright enough to handle the sharpie? Is it remove able if I do not like it?

I had a problem with the red on some lights that wasn't as strong. I could see eyes but I couldn't tell what was wearin em. In that case I switch to orange film. If it's still not enough then I use yellow. Then if that don't work just use white or get a new light.

Red Dykem is the way to go , last year I was buying red led lights and making custom lenses out of lexan then covering them with dykem . The great thing about using it is that you can make the lense whatever shade of red you want . Its only $7 or so and I was able to buy mine a Grainger right by the house !
