I have caught Coons,Possum And Skunk but never traped a Fox.
I need some help here! I have a Chicken house and with fall setting on the Fox's are coming out. Greys mostly. Thanks Jeff /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

well I know now that they are Grey Foxs,Will that help?
Also what if I staked out a Chicken(DEAD) and placed 11/2
Jump traps( about 4 of them around it) How far away from the Chicken should they be???? Thanks Jeff

good luck catching a fox in a live trap. most are too smart the easiest way I can tell ya is camo the cage very good. using a dead chicken along with traps is not the best idea but you could get em If you know how to trap just make a dirt hole set and use a gland lure of some type.

Since your going to try the traps out....try baiting one with some sardines. You know, the canned sardines in oil. If the fox is going to be lured in, the sardines are pretty hard to resist. Let me know how it works...Jeff.

Well I Finally caught one. Big red male. Tried all of what you guys said with no luck. I put a Live Chicken in a two foot square cage and set a Jump on all four sides about a foot away. Got up next day and there he was and the chicken looked like it was going to have a heart attack! Real good looking Fox,Fured up real good. Do ya think his Pelt might be worth something right now?? I reset the Traps and put a differant Chicken in(could not do that to her again). Thanks Jeff

Well I fooled around and cought a Red Fox in a Live trap. It was this years pup I think, only weighed about ten pounds. Used a Grey Squerrel zip striped in back floor and put back of trap to a fence and put a trap stake through it to keep it from turning over. would like to post a pic but don't know how.....Jeff /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif
