I have an older Howa sporter .223 with a Timney trigger set at 1.3 lbs and loads of BlC2 and Hornaday 53 gr hp match #2250 with best 100yd group of .258“. Winchester brass & CCI primers.
it‘s carefully mounted in a Boyds At One stock and torqued to Boyds spec. Maybe I’m just lucky but perhaps more experimentation is warrented.
Also own a Howa in 300 Win mag that shoots wonderfully with 180 Barnes and 70 gr of IMR 4831. Hence my experience with the two Hoas been very positive. Good luck.
