NICE i love mine i use bulk 223 from millatry surplus and i shot G SQUIRRLES OUT AT OVER 300YARDS,, NICE GUN BUT I STILL LIKE MY HMR 17 , AND MY 308 SAVAGE, I JUST LOVE ALL MY GUNS GOD BLESS AMERICA. and ouar right to bare arms no mater how many we have!!!

Nice looking setup, now bring it over the hill so we can chase some coyotes with it.

Is that the standard Howa or the Ranchland? I was looking to get my Dad a .223 and have a light weight calling rig to keep in the truck. He shot my Savage this weekend and fell in love with the .223. I keep coming back to the Howa package but have yet to shoot one.

If your dad wants a light weight .223 for a truck gun, pick him up a savage stevens in .223, light, synthetic stock and is a tack driver and for around a $300.00 gun you can't beat it.

it is the 1500 model soft grip stock feels real good , not sure about the scope i think it will have to go not strong enough,,but it shoots nice

A 3x9 scope is just about perfect for predator calling. If you are using it to chase squirrels than a higher magnification is always nice. If you get rid of it let me know, I need an inexpensive scope to go on my 30-06.

i bought the 223 for varmets and coyote and need more power for the GS , to see them at 250yrds + it would be fine for coyoties but with varitable power make my 223 more usefull.
when i replace it i will bring it over with me , timmy

Sounds good. By the way, I saw a coyote about 300 yards off today and called him in to just under 40 yards with a closed reed call. He saw my Dad draw his bow and bolted. If I had the Savage it would have been a done deal.

Do you have a quad you could bring over, no big deal we can take the truck or grab my Dad's quad. It is easier to cover ground that way calling dogs, more setups in a day. I saw two VERY large gray squirrels today, but did not have the equipment to get them out of the tree. Lots of sage rats.
