I've had a dozen or so HS stocks including that one at one time. They are ok for the money. They are generally a good bit heavier than other brand name stocks, which isn't always a concern. I'd say half or more HS stocks require some amount of fitting and relieving to get the action and barrel to sit straight, which is usually done by whoever skim beds the rifle. I feel like the guns always shot better after bedding.
To this day exactly 2 of those stocks did chip on the exterior shell, in each case a corner or edge. I filled in the chips with devcon, painted to match and forgot about it.
From this point forward any stocks I use on precision rifles will be from McMillan and manners, but I wouldn't hesitate to use an HS on a hunting type rifle. However, in my opinion, if you're not going to spring for a high end stock then look at bell and Carlson and save the $100.
