Hunted with my Buddy TR on Sunday

2nd stand of the morning, TR is 75 yards to the North of me, we are facing West.

2 minutes into the stand, I see a coyote running in from my left. I thought it was a coyote, it was actually a Bobcat!!

I don’t know how many stands I have done over the years, this was my 1st encounter with a kitty.

I wasn’t about to shoot the cat, he spotted me less than 10 yards from me straight West, I didn’t move, still he spotted me then just stared at me for 5 minutes.

TR was playing some type of rabbit in the beginning, the cat decided to slowly put the stalk on the Roughneck. TR was now playing some coyote fights and different pup distresses, the cat got to within 3 feet of the caller.

TR got up to grab the ecaller and then the cat bolted over the top of the hill to the East.

TR was like………That was a Bobcat!!

I told TR about the cat coming in and that I pulled out my phone, captured some video of it creeping towards the caller, I also captured a couple pictures of it staring at me.

You have to look closely to see him in the pictures.

Haha. I was calling one night and had a bobcat come in from the North straight out in front of me. I shot it and continued playing some rabbit distress sounds. I went through my coyote sounds and was on pup distress, when I got this “feeling” to swing the rifle behind me to my West (no scanner). I swung and there sat a bobcat about 25-30yds away looking from the caller back to me and back to the caller. I rushed the shot thinking he would bolt any second and missed, lol. He turned and WALKED about 15-20 yards and turned back around and sat down. I didn’t miss the second time! I honestly don’t see how they’re not an endangered or extinct species down here!!
