Hunting Chairs

When hitting lots of stands in a day my back gets a little sore. I'm looking at getting some kind of chair and was wondering what others use.

thanks

Andy

Pacific outdoor easy chair! I like having a back rest and it has a mesh pocket to hold everything but my gun. They are about 20-27 dollars online, I got mine for ten at recreation outlet.

Even sitting on a pad I'll make it about 10 minutes on a stand and by the end of the day I'm toast!! About 10 years ago I went to a stadium seat with back support and I'd make it about 20 minutes a stand with the same end of day results...toast. This year I found a folding chair made by ALPS and it's perfect. In fact earlier this year I sat on a deer stand for almost 4 hours and only got up a couple of times just to stretch my legs, no back pain, no legs or feet fallin asleep. Very sturdy, rated at 300 lbs, plenty to carry my 260 lb fat a$$. Light weight, cost about $40 buck and available in camo.

Ok, we are already totin Callers, Backpacks, Ladders in some cases.. Now we need to tote Recliners? Cumon! Toughen up! Ok.. I do occasionaly tote a Hiney pad for those 1 hour sets...

Here is what I use. After a few trips to the chiropractor from sitting in a bad position, I began to search for a chair that would save my back. I found it and can't seem to go hunting without it. I don't think the camo version is available anymore, but the chair is very comfortable, and can be adjusted for use on hillsides.

Mine really isn't a chair as much at it is a stool. Collapsable four leg, has a little cloth shoulder strap. It's pretty beat up... I used to use it while cat fishing all night back east. I think I might find some good 3000 denier condura nylon and have the lil' ol' Korean lady at the sew shop hook it up with a new seat.

There are a couple threads on this topic on the "Other Calling Equipment and Critter Getting Techniques" section within the first page or two.

I haven't tried anything with a back on it, which it sounds like you're in need of. But I just picked this up yesterday for $9 on sale to try out, I usually sit right on the ground(or a pad) but with snow on the ground I was looking for something to get me out of the cold stuff. After 5 stands with it, I'm in love. It's much easier on the knees/legs, yet low enough to the ground that you don't stick out in open sage brush country.

Love the HS Strut seat--hated the wimpy short carrying strap. Cut it off and replaced it with a 1 1/2 in.wide and longer strap--now it perfect

i use a $10 dollar stool from cabelas. its' light and i can clip it 2 my foxpro case. holds me up.....278lbs.(depends on if i ate or not)lol!

Just saw a neat backpack frame/seat/chair-in-one at Gander Mt. about a week ago - marketed by Magnus - almost like an easy chair with the weight of a pack frame. About $150 as I recall. Nice for those of us missing discs and such. Toughening up and getting back in to the shape I was in in my early 20's isn't an option anymore.

I think I'd like legs with ends as the straight across bar could get bent over an obstruction and mess it up, but good idea overall. Was thinking of building something lite wt. and similar lately and then saw this.

Those flexible stadium seats with the support straps on the sides look good for probably most people and situations.
